[11.4.16] This past weekend female skate crews from all over the world came out to San Diego, CA for the 2016 Exposure Skate Contest and the premiere party for "Quit Your Day Job" at Transworld Skate Park. We had a blast hanging with all the homies and we are super stoked on all the new #ladiesofshred we met and are now friends with! The 2nd ever Women's Division at Street League went down this past weekend in Los Angeles. In partnership with WSA, a small elite field of 8 skaters including Lacey Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Mariah Duran, Pamela Rosa, Alexis Sablone, Monica Torres, Alana Smith, Vanessa Torres with 2 alternates Samarria Brevard and Aori Nishimura were invited to compete. Girlz Nite Out Los Angeles went down last night at Escala Ktown and it was EPIC! We hosted the world premiere of "Quit Your Day Job" a film by Erik Sandoval and Monique O'Toole, the first full length female skate film in the US in over a decade, featuring Vanessa Torres, Samarria Brevard, Lacey Baker, Mariah Duran, Nika Washington, Savannah Headden, Candy Jacobs and Annie Guglia and the crowd was insane! We hosted our 2nd girls skate session at Fremont skatepark this past Labor Day weekend with our friends at Skate Like a Girl SF Bay Area. A bunch of new ladies of shred came out from all over the Bay and the world, including - Hristina, a member of an all girls bmx crew from Latvia and Patineta Pa' Rato, a girls skate crew from Venezuela as well as one skater, Deej, who drove out from Minnesota to skate with us! [08.21.2016] Chickflip, a group of girls shredders from Vancouver represented the ladies at Bowl Series, an annual skateboarding contest in British Columbia, Canada consisting of 5 different contests held on 5 bowls around the Vancouver area 4 of which are snake style bowls. Every year, a 'Queen of the Bowls' title is awarded to one outstanding shredder, and this year the honor goes to Carrie Williams. Congratulations, Carrie! Photos by Norma Ibarra.

Last weekend we hosted a girls skate session at Fremont Skatepark for Kat Sy's bday. We had familiar faces from Skate Like a Girl's Bay Area chapter as well as some new ladies of shred that came out from all over the Bay, ranging in age from under 10 to over 40 years old! MAHFIA.TV and Skate Like a Girl teamed up to host the first ever official Girls Week at Element YMCA Skate Camp and we had a blast! Meow skateboards team riders Vanessa Torres, Lacey Baker and Kristin Ebeling headed up to the Sequoia National Forest along with MAHFIA.TV's Kim Woozy, Zorah Olivia and Monique O'Toole.
