Women’s snowboarding camp, The Progression Sessions, combined forces with South American powder tour company, Steep N Deep, to take a group of lucky lady shredders into the rugged mountains of Chile. While they improved skills in park, backcountry, and deep powder, off the mountain they spent time wine tasting, surfing, exploring and immersing themselves in Chilean culture. : Kimmy Fasani led a backcountry awareness and safety session off hill before we headed to Valle Nevado for our second day of riding. Here, she and Mary Walshs how off a pair of Verts, a great way to foot-access off piste riding.

: On the way to Santiago, we stopped at an incredible empanada café hidden in a beautiful garden. The husband and wife team who run the restaurant were amazing and their empanadas were insane!

: At La Parva, Ian provided more information about backcountry safety before he and Kimmy Fasani led everyone through beacon drills.

: Beacon drills at La Parva! We didn’t get the powder we were dreaming off to due unusually low snowfall in August in Chile, but we had great conditions to make turns and spent time practining backcountry safety for when it does snow, next summer! Deidre and Allison recovered a beacon in a backpack.

: While learning about backcountry safety is serious business, the crew had a great time getting familiar with the avy gear, supplied for everyone by Outdoor Equipment Rentals. V serious photo with all the ladies at La Parva.

: The look out points are incredible in the Farellones area. This one off a cat track at La Parva had a massive Chilean flag. Of course, we stopped for a few photos.

: Hotel Farellones, nestled at the hub below the slopes of El Colorado, La Parva and Valle Nevado, has the warmth and comfort of a lodge, with a staff that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Can’t wait to go back next August!

: After four days of snowboarding, it was time to head to the coast to surf, with a wine tasting stop along the way.

: A quick stop for wine tasting on the way to the Chilean coast? Yes, please!

: Surfing at Punto Surf La Boca Surf School in ConCon! While Brandi and Jenny (far right) are skilled surfers, the rest of us were learning and the small waves were perfect!

: Fawnn cruised in and met up with a Chile dog! Chile dogs roamed the beach and were super friendly and very healthy looking!
