CORONATION Street star Sair Khan has announced she is pregnant with her first child.

The actress - who plays Alya Nazir in the ITV soap since 2014, revealed the happy news on social media today.

Sair, 35, showed off her growing baby bump in the black and white photo and told fans it was a "real mix of emotions", with the happy news coming amid her partner Nathan Chilton's health struggles.

The soap star, who also appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2018, penned a touching message.

She shared: "Hello… It’s been a little while since posting on here which has been a real mix of emotions.

"With all that is happening in the world it didn’t feel like the right time to share but we also know it’s okay to keep hope and pray for peace whilst acknowledging that we feel blessed and grateful.

"Last year was a challenging time for us both with Nathan’s chondroblastoma surgery on his pelvis.

"It’s been a long road to recovery and still has many obstacles ahead as we deal with the spread of the tumour to his lungs.

"Life can be difficult and there’ll always be challenges to face but there are also important lessons to be learnt and gifts to be cherished.

"We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024."

Sair was congratulated by her fans and her Corrie co-stars.

Former Corrie star Kimberly Hart Simpson posted: "Oh myyyyyyyy I am so happy for you. Amazing. Love to you both."

Kym Marsh commented: "Oh this is beautiful news. Sending you both lots of love."

Ex-Corrie actor Jack James Ryan gushed: "Beautiful news. Huge congratulations to you both."

Sair found love again in 2021 two years after her heartbreaking split, when she started dating chiropractor Nathan.

She broke up with fellow soap star Simon Lennon in 2019.

A source said at the time: "They've been dating since late last year after meeting through a mutual friend.

"Things have been going really well and it's no secret that they're head over heels for each other. Everyone's hoping she's found The One."

Sair had appeared in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018 and had starred on Channel 4’s Sink Or Swim.

The actress has had a number of hardhitting storylines over the years - including being shot and was the victim of a far-right extremists plot.

As news of Sair's pregnancy broke, her co-stars rushed to congratulate her on this exciting journey.

The Coronation Street family showered her with love and support, excitedly anticipating the arrival of her bundle of joy.

Kym Marsh commented: "Oh this is beautiful news. Sending you both lots of love."

Another Corrie pal, Samia Longchambon who plays Maria Connor in the ITV soap 2000, wrote: "So thrilled for you guys!"

Former Coronation Street star, Lucy Fallon, who is known for playing Bethany Platt also sent her congratulations, saying: "So so so happy for you both gorgeous Sair. Can't wait for baby besties to unite."

"So happy for you. You'll be the best parents ever. Congratulations," commented Sally Dynevor (Sally Metcalfe).

Fans now eagerly await how the soap will handle Sairs' character's storyline and the new chapters that lie ahead for her both on and off-screen.

The happy news comes amid her partner Nathan Chilton's health struggles.

In February 2020, Sair was forced to deny she was pregnant after being pictured holding her tummy and in bed with a male pal.

Looking ahead to the new year, our speakers bureau has seen a steady rise in the number of keynote speakers requested in these topics, and with very good reason. They reflect some of the biggest challenges our workplaces are facing today.

1. Mental Health And Mindset Speakers

As we approach nearly two years since this historic virus first made its appearance in the United States, it is no surprise that mental health and mindset sit atop the trending topics. Companies have been responding to this trend in positive ways, recognizing that their employees have all been through a very trying time.

In fact, a Fortune magazine article cites that nearly 40% of employers expanded their mental health benefits during the pandemic. In an example of corporate responsibility, Nike recently shifted its well-known “Just Do It” campaign to a timely “Just Feel It” effort to support the mental health of its customers. The international beauty brand Lush also decided to deactivate its accounts on several social media platforms, citing social media’s role in the mental health of the people who engage on these platforms.

The stigma of talking about mental health is beginning to fade. As they continue to place focus on people’s mental health and well-being into 2022, Fortune 500 employers plan to bring mental health and mindset speakers to speak to their employees, and universities are following suit, helping both students and staff recognize and address signs of depression, anxiety and anger during this challenging and uncharted period in time.

2. Diversity, Equity And Inclusion (DEI) Speakers

While the need to educate about diversity became abundantly clear in latest years, the term has since expanded to address issues of equity and inclusion in the workplace, no matter a person’s race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or (dis)ability. When combined with increased awareness raised by advocates for the Black community, requests for speakers on DEI themes have soared in the past year.

Diversity has become a critical part of corporate responsibility, and companies that practice what they preach through hiring practices and internal diversity programs are the ones seeing more demand from job applicants. In fact, three out of four employees prefer diverse companies, according to a Glassdoor survey, leading many employers to create new roles for diversity within their organizations. In a tight hiring market, these metrics matter.

The Asian American community, through the “End Asian Hate” effort, continues to diffuse long-held racial misconceptions. The LGBTQ+ community is expanding awareness of issues around gender identity and sexual orientation. Individuals with disabilities who have overcome adversity are in demand as speakers. Universities traditionally bring Hispanic Heritage and Native American speakers to campuses to speak during annual cultural celebrations.

I’m seeing a new trend emerging where corporations are choosing to do the same to educate employees about cultures, discrimination and diversity. Diversity, equity and inclusion will remain a popular theme well into 2022, and so will requests for diverse professional speakers to speak across broader themes such as business, leadership, motivation and STEM.

3. Future Of Work Speakers

Millions of employees will navigate returning to the workplace in the new year, some for the first time since the pandemic started. Employees expect more diversity, safety, compassion, empathy and support from employers. Employers, many still adjusting to a hybrid workforce, are also placing focus on digital transformation and what that means for their organizations.

Payroll powerhouse ADP recently released the 2022 ADPWorkforce Trends study, where it highlighted the challenges that companies and employees are facing when it comes to the future of work. Many experts agree that the time is now for having conversations about what a dispersed workforce looks like and how to build both trust and productivity while physically distant. As remote work continues to be on the rise, so does the need for experts to address Topics such as digital communication, cybersecurity and productivity.

As we close the books on 2021, it is fantastic to see these three trends emerging as we head into 2022. These themes empower us, educate us, heal us and help us learn to be sensitive to differences between us. Now that’s a trend worth continuing.
