If you love sword fighting you’ve got to go see Acme Theatre Company’s summer teen production of Ken Ludwig’s “The Three Musketeers,” based on the novel by Alexandre Dumas.

The story takes place in 1625 Paris, and stars the young D’Artagnan (Amanda Archer), determined to join the Musketeers, whose duty it is to protect the King (Jackie Wallis) and Queen (Alisa Clayton) of France. Soon, he joins forces with the famous Three Musketeer swordsmen Athos (Morgan Hendrix-Chupa), Porthos (Wren Arellano-Calderon) and Aramis (Odie Lopez) to defend the Queen’s honor and rescue his new heartthrob, the Queen’s Lady in Waiting, Constance Bonacieux (Kathleen Dolan/Analia Eisen).

Cardinal Richelieu(Jamie Alda’s) is power hungry and is the villain in this story along with the deadly Countess de Winter (Ella Del Favero). It is up to the Musketeers, D’Artagnan, and his cunning and mighty little sister Sabine (Mara Nittner) to save the day!

It was near 100 degrees outside the Wyatt Pavilion the evening I went to see the show, but thankfully, the UC Davis theater had plenty of cool air conditioning. Before we were allowed inside, we were asked for proof of COVID vaccination or a latest negative test. All the actors wore masks and all the audience members were also masked indoors.

The stage projected into the audience and we were able to see around the large poles that held up the roof. Even though the cast was wearing masks, we could hear every word crystal-clear from the actors. The sets and costumes were a step above what I had expected.

What really impressed me with this show was the sword-fighting. I think just about every scene had some fantastic sword-fighting or knife-fighting with so much structured choreography (Dan Renkin) that you couldn’t help but sit on the edge of your seat. This looked and sounded seriously dangerous. The audience was very involved with the show both cheering loudly when a hero won a fight, or gasping in horror when an innocent was slain.

This production was gender-blind casting as well, so kudos to the Directors Sean Olivares and Emily Henderson for that bold decision.

This was a good production and is a wonderful opportunity for families to bring their children to a very action-packed show or even a first introduction for them to experience live theater. You will even get to hear live harmonica playing by the talented Desmond Beach. So I recommend you come see Acme Theatre’s “The Three Musketeers.” All for one and one for all!

The show runs weekends now through Aug. 7. Find details at acmetheatre.net.

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Noname Security, the most complete, proactive API security platform, today announced the appointment of Mike O’Malley as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). With more than two decades of technology experience, O’Malley has a proven track record of successfully driving business strategy and scaling global demand engines. Previously, O’Malley served as Senior Vice President, Global Marketing at CyberArk and was responsible for transforming the marketing organization into a digital-first, customer-centric, content-rich, and data-driven function within the company. Prior to CyberArk, O’Malley also held leadership roles at a number of technology innovators, including 128 Technology, VCE (now part of Dell), Acme Packet, and VMware.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the team. O’Malley joins at a pivotal time for Noname Security, having achieved unicorn status less than two years after exiting stealth. Organizations reported an average of 15,564 APIs with no signs growth will slow down.

“Over the past two years, organizations everywhere have transformed themselves through digital-first initiatives - driving an explosion in APIs, and creating a massive new attack surface for cybercriminals to exploit,” said Mike O’Malley, CMO at Noname Security. “Noname takes a truly unique, forward-thinking, and security-first approach to this challenge, and I am thrilled to join what I know will be a game-changing company.”

Killexams : Stock traders in Malta in international...

Stock traders in Malta, New York, Cyprus, France and Russia and computer hackers in Ukraine made as much as $100 million in illegal profits over five years by conspiring to use information stolen from thousands of corporate press statements before their public release, US authorities said.

Prosecutors announced charges against nine people in an insider-trading case that marks the first time criminal charges have been brought for a securities fraud scheme involving hacked inside information, in this instance 150,000 press releases from distributors Business Wire, Marketwired and PR Newswire.

"This is the story of a traditional securities fraud scheme with a twist - one that employed a contemporary approach to a conventional crime," Diego Rodriguez, FBI assistant director-in-charge, said at a news conference.

Prosecutors said the Ukraine-based hackers, who were given "shopping lists" of press releases by the traders, improperly accessed press statements before the distributors planned to release them to the public.

The hackers created a "video tutorial" to help traders see the stolen releases and were paid a portion of the profits from trades based on the information in them, prosecutors said.

The nine people were indicted by grand juries in Brooklyn, New York, and Newark, New Jersey, on charges that they made $30 million in illegal profits starting around February 2010.

Five were arrested on Tuesday. International arrest warrants were issued for the other four.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission in a related civil lawsuit charged 17 people and 15 corporate entities, and said that thefts of inside information resulted in more than $100 million in illegal profit.

The SEC said the network included traders in New York, Cyprus, France, Malta and Russia. It is seeking civil penalties, and has already obtained court-ordered asset freezes.

Law enforcement officials have warned companies for years about securing their computer networks against hackers, whose victims over the past two years have included leading retailers and US government personnel.

"This case illustrates how cyber criminals and those who commit securities fraud are evolving and becoming more sophisticated," US Attorney Paul Fishman in New Jersey said at the news conference. "The hackers were relentless and they were patient."

Fishman said the distributors, who were not charged with wrongdoing, provided "fabulous cooperation" in the probe.

The breaches could put more pressure on the information distribution business, which was founded decades ago and depends on clients trusting the distributors with sensitive information. In latest years, prominent US companies including Google, Microsoft, Wal-Mart Stores and Tesla have started to release important information on their own websites or social media platforms, reducing their dependence on the business wires.

The three distribution companies all released statements touting their cooperation with authorities and their security measures.

Business Wire, a unit of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc, said it hired a security firm to test its systems.

"Despite extreme vigilance and commitment, latest events illustrate that no one is immune to the highly sophisticated illegal cyber-intrusions that are plaguing every aspect of our society," it said in a statement.

PR Newswire, a unit of Britain's UBM Plc, said it also takes security very seriously, while Marketwired said it is protected by world-class security, monitoring and prevention practices.

SENSITIVE CORPORATE NEWS

The indictments said the news releases included sensitive corporate information such as financial results that would later become public. Foreign shell companies were used to share the money made from the insider trading, officials said.

"The traders were market-savvy, using equities, options and contracts for differences to maximize their profits," SEC Chair Mary Jo White said at the news conference.

Authorities said the scheme involved trades on such companies as Acme Packet Inc, Align Technology Inc, Caterpillar Inc, Dealertrack Technologies Inc, Dendreon Corp, Edwards Lifesciences Corp, Hewlett-Packard Co, Home Depot Inc and Panera Bread Co.

The indictment in Brooklyn charged four traders: Vitaly Korchevsky, 50, a former hedge fund manager from Pennsylvania; Vladislav Khalupsky, 45, of Brooklyn and Odessa, Ukraine; and Leonid Momotok, 47, and Alexander Garkusha, 47, of the US state of Georgia. The charges included securities fraud, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracy.

Korchevsky appeared without a lawyer in federal court in Philadelphia. He was released on a $100,000 bond and told to surrender his passport, but later on Tuesday, a judge in Brooklyn stayed his release order, authorizing law enforcement to keep him in custody until a bail hearing can be held in Brooklyn.

A prosecutor told the court that Korchevsky was a flight risk with $5 million at his disposal and that he had travelled abroad 42 times since 2010. Korchevsky's wife told the judge that 99 per cent of her husband's travel was in his role as a pastor.

The indictment made public in New Jersey charged Ivan Turchynov, 27, and Oleksandr Ieremenko, 24, alleged hackers who live in Ukraine; Pavel Dubovoy, 32, a trader from Ukraine; and Arkadiy Dubovoy, 51, and his son Igor Dubovoy, 28, traders from Georgia.

Arkadiy Dubovoy and Igor Dubovoy appeared in federal court in Atlanta, while Momotok and Garkusha made court appearances in nearby Gainesville. All four were scheduled to be in court again on Thursday.

One indictment quotes online chats in which Ieremenko told Turchynov on March 25, 2012, that he had "bruted" the log-in credentials of 15 Business Wire employees, and told an unidentified recipient in Russian on Oct. 10, 2012, that "I'm hacking prnewswire.com."

SEC investigators found the traders by using technology that identified both suspicious trading and relationships among traders, White told reporters.

She said those charged "went to great lengths to evade detection" and the SEC sorted through millions of traders, thousands of earnings announcements and gigabytes of data on IP addresses.

Canyon District Park includes new soccer fields in Boynton Beach on August 2, 2022.

The new Canyon District Park, west of Boynton Beach, opened on Monday.

Soccer enthusiasts have begun to use its three lighted multi-purpose fields for open and league play.

The formal opening for the 53-acre park near the intersection of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Acme Dairy Road, is Sept. 24. The $12 million first phase includes the soccer fields, a fitness trail, parking for more than 100 cars, a 2,600-square-foot maintenance building, and two new lakes to create a buffer between the park and the adjacent Canyon Lakes development.

The second phase, to be completed in the summer of 2024 at a cost of another $10 million, will feature additional lighted sports fields, a showcase playground and picnic facilities. The work is funded through a combination of impact fees and infrastructure sales tax proceeds.

“This is long overdue,” said Steve Wallace, president of the Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations (COBWRA), noting he moved to the region in 2009 and was promised a park then. “These facilities are very much needed to accommodate the growth that has occurred in latest years."

PBC growth: Who is paying for all the new infrastructure and will builders have to pay more in impact fees?

West of Boynton Beach: Work starts on 52-acre park near Canyon Lakes

Canyon District Park includes soccer fields, a fitness trail, parking for more than 100 cars, a 2,600-square-foot maintenance building and two new lakes in Boynton Beach on August 2, 2022.

There has been significant residential development west of Florida's Turnpike between Boynton Beach Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue. In the past 10 years, more than 5,000 dwelling units have been built, and another 600+ unit development, Valencia Grand, is currently being constructed. The first group of residents expect to move in there sometime next year.

The park is one of three large-scale public projects planned for the region.

Just to the north of the park will be West Boynton Middle School, which is now being built on a 12-acre site. The $55 million project is expected to be completed in time for the 2023 school year. More than 1,300 students will be enrolled at the school, which is adjacent to the existing Sunset Palms elementary school. The new middle school will have its own outdoor basketball and tennis courts, soccer, baseball and softball fields, and a 100-meter track.

School and county officials are negotiating a joint-use agreement that would allow middle school teams to use the county soccer fields and county residents to use the school's tennis courts and basketball courts during off hours.

Ground breaking for a $21 million library also will occur Sept. 24, the same date as the formal opening of the county park. Construction of the 33,000-square-foot library had to wait until the park opened as it will be built on the site of the old soccer fields at Canyon Town Center.

The library will have a large meeting room that can accommodate 300 people, a digital media lab, and automated checkout and return stations.

When all three projects are completed, nearly $100 million will have been spent to enhance public facilities in one of the fastest growing regions of Palm Beach County.

Are the roads equipped to handle all the growth west of Boynton?

County planners have worked to help ease traffic issues by having the entrance to the new school off the Connector Road to avoid congestion on Acme Dairy Road. Opening and closing times for the new school and the existing elementary school will be staggered to ease congestion.

But Wallace is concerned over what will happen if county commissioners approve high-density projects proposed for Boynton Beach Boulevard west of the turnpike.

“It is going to be a disaster,” he said. “The road system is not equipped to handle all that increased traffic. I’m not concerned about the public projects. It is the new residential development that will cause issues.”

The west Boynton region falls within the district of County Commissioner Maria Sachs. She said she, too, is concerned with the traffic impacts that could result from the new residential development proposed for the area.

"We need to improve infrastructure first before any of these new homes are built," she said. "Clearly, the roads need to be widened."

As for the new public facilities, she said they will "help to create a sense of community that has been missing," noting: "We have built row upon row of homes and have taken too long to provide these amenities to our residents."

Killexams : Epic Comeback Saves Sabres, For Now

The results coming out of the All Star break have been discouraging. In two losses in a row in so called must win games, the team looked flat and disinterested. Then a resounding win over Ottawa on Saturday night at home gave us some hope. How did they follow that up? With a thud and a loss in New Jersey in a game that was right there for the taking. Out of a possible 8 points, they got 3. I think that stretch is basically a microcosm of the season so far. 1 win, 2 losses, and an OT loss. This is just not good enough.

Fast forward to last night when the San Jose Sharks came into town at the start of an East Coast road trip. They were in the Finals last year and almost won the cup. They are looking to make another run this year and surely were up for this game, looking to start a long road trip off on the right foot. For the Sabres, they had points against the Sharks in their last 10 straight games, going 9-0-1. That is an amazing stat against such a talented, veteran team.

Out of a possible 8 points coming out of the break, they got 3. That stretch is basically a microcosm of the season so far. 1 win, 2 losses, and an OT loss- It is just not good enough.

Last night the game started off well for us. We had a 1-0 lead in the first period after scoring on the power play. Then all of a sudden, we stopped skating and let San Jose score 4 unanswered goals. First it was Brent Burns with a wicked one-timer that Joel Ward redirected in front of the net, then Logan Couture pounced on a puck that Nilsson initially saved, then lost and left sitting on the goal line for him to slap in. After 2 periods it was 3-1 San Jose and fans booed the team off the ice. The second period lull struck early last night, in the second half of the first and lasted until about 10 minutes left in the third.

After Pavelski scored early in the third, fans began to head for the exits, and I have to say, I cannot blame them this time. As the third began, the Sabres just looked bemused and uninterested. They weren’t skating and some of the players looked like they would rather be somewhere else. I felt to myself, why am I watching this right now? I felt that, but then I said to myself, I’m watching right now because this team has magic and they have stars, and they are better than this, so I must keep watching and hoping for something to happen. Then lightning struck: on the power play with about 11 minutes remaining, Magic Jack hit O’Reilly with an unreal cross ice pass from below the goal line. O’Reilly smashed it home and with that goal, life was jolted back into this group who had sleep walked through more than half the game. It was as if that goal, and that play by two of our stars, was like a giant smelling salt packet that guys use to pep themselves up, for the whole team. In a span of just over three minutes, the Sabres poured the pressure on San Jose and had tied the game, with Kaner and Okposo muscling in goals. After the game, Bylsma said that with the way they flipped a switch and were skating, he thought that his team was going to get the winner in regulation. They almost did, but had to settle for overtime, and a late, but well deserved point. Their performance for the majority of the game did not deserve a point, but the game is 60 minutes, 65 minutes in this case, and they found a way.

In OT, Bylsma started O’Reilly and Okposo, and while this may be looked at critically by some, last night it almost worked out but there was a terrible no call on a trip on O’Reilly that almost gave the Sharks an odd man rush. The Sabres were able to make a change, and Eich and Kaner got on the ice. Once Eich picked up the puck in the defensive zone and began to skate up ice, you knew something amazing was going to happen. His speed is just incredible. He took three strides and the Sharks were all left in the dust. Kane busted up the ice to his left and the Sabres had a 2 on 1. Eich brought it into the zone, hesitated, dropped a shoulder and threaded a pass under the defenseman’s stick to Kane crashing the net. Kaner got his stick on it and roofed it for the big OT winner and his second goal of the night. He scarily caught his skate on goalie Martin Jones’ pad and crashed face and shoulder first into the boards and was down on the ice as his teammates rushed to him to celebrate. He was down for a few moments and as he got up, he looked shaken up. However, he did a post game interview with Duffer and Mayday and he said he is fine and that he was not injured, just shaken up.

It was a great finish to a game, that up to the second half of the third period had been a real disappointment.

What a finish. I am not going to lie, during the second and early third period of that game, I felt like I was watching the rest of the season collapse. I had thoughts in my head similar to when the Bills were losing games they should have won and getting eliminated from playoff contention. It was a dark feeling and depressing. But I kept watching and believing because I believe in the talent this team has and the heart of their leaders. I still have questions about the goaltending, but I am not ready to deliver up on these guys yet. Like I said, I don’t blame the people who booed or left early; as paying, dedicated, bleeding blue and gold fans, we want to WIN! We want to see greatness, and we deserve greatness. When the team is somnambulating through games that they themselves call must win, people get ticked off and angry. We fans want to see action, heart, fighting, big hits, scoring and we want to see the players succeed. I am glad that they pulled it out last night, but it is disheartening to see the kind of effort they displayed in the end of the first, second and first half of the third periods. We have to figure out a way to play with fire and determination for 60 minutes. The guys in the room talk about it, but we have to do it. I think we have the talent to make a run, but we cannot have anymore of these sleepwalk games. In the NHL, you have to play the whole game like they played the second half of the third.

Tomorrow night we have Anaheim in town for their only visit of the year. They are a good team and it will be a good test to see if the boys can carry over what they did last night into tomorrow night and put up a good fight.

Prior to CyberArk, O’Malley also held leadership roles at a number of technology innovators, including 128 Technology, VCE (now part of Dell), Acme Packet, and VMware.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the team. He brings the perfect mix of cybersecurity knowledge and marketing wizardry that will be a big driver as we work to secure APIs across the globe,” said Oz Golan, Co-Founder and CEO at Noname Security. “The nature of the API is fundamentally different nowadays, and has much more power and reach than ever before. It’s imperative that organizations evolve their security strategy to keep up with the transformational role that APIs hold in today’s digital business.”

O’Malley joins at a pivotal time for Noname Security, having achieved unicorn status less than two years after exiting stealth. Earlier this year, Noname Security and the 451 Group released The 2022 API Security Trends Report. In that report, it was found that API usage grew 201% in a twelve-month period and 41% of those surveyed experienced an API-related security breach.

Noname Security is continuing to hire as the need for API security is increasingly in demand. To learn more about the company or apply for open positions, please visit: https://nonamesecurity.com/careers
