This one may seem like a no-brainer, but which font you use in Microsoft Word can make all the difference. In most scenarios, you want to use a professional font style and a standard font size for all your documents. Something easy to read. The last thing you want is an entire document written in Comic Sans or another font that screams unprofessionalism.
The standard is either an 11 or 12-point font, ensuring you have enough room to write while maintaining an easy-to-read professional style. As for the font style, Times New Roman is, without a doubt, the go-to font for any printed document, while Arial is the number one option for digital writing. If, for some reason, neither is available, Georgia and Calibri are great substitutes, respectively. Follow these steps to change your font in Microsoft Word:
Open a Word document.
Click the Home tab.
In the Font section, click the font name to change it.
Next to the font name, click the number to adjust the size.
You can change the font style, size, and color, but it's best to leave it black, as something extravagant could be hard to read. If you want to use multiple fonts, highlight a section of text and select a new font. This will change the selected text while leaving the rest of the document in the default style.

In this post, we will show you how to open or run File Explorer (explorer.exe) with elevated privileges or in administrator mode in Windows 11/10. Windows File Explorer or explorer.exe is also set to run in the standard user context. Even if you right-click on explorer.exe, and select âRun as Administratorâ, it will still run in the standard user context. The problem is caused by the fact that User Account Control can only elevate an application to a higher token when it is launching a new process. It cannot elevate an existing process.
This is the correct way to open File Explorer in elevated mode. You should also verify via the Task Manager if it is indeed running in that mode.

Windows 10, tips and tricks for the best experience on the most accurate operating system for PCs. Here are 15 ways to become a power users of Windows 10.
Control Windows Updates
Updates are useful for keeping your PC secure and performing as it should be. However, they have a tendency to come at the worst times. If you head into your advanced WiFi settings you can trick your PC into not downloading updates whenever it pleases by stating you have a metered WiFi connection. This is particularly handy if you're doing something requiring a lot of bandwidth that you don't want updates hogging. You can also prevent your PC from downloading an update again if you happen to come across one that leaves it moving at a snail's pace.
God Mode
GodMode is a particularly hidden feature that puts all settings in one place within Windows 10. Create a folder on your desktop named: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}. This is particularly handy for accessing all of the most hidden away settings within Windows 10.
Clear Out the Old Backups
Once you've updated to Windows 10, your PC will store all of your old OS settings and files away, taking up a good 9-10GB of storage space. Head into control panel, type Admin in the search box, and double-click Disk Clean-up. Select the 'Clean up system files' option and let it do its thing. It'll take a few minutes but your PC will be much better off for it.
Manage Your Notifications
You can customize what appears in your Action Center within the Notifications & Actions menu within System Settings. Sick of those tips about Windows? Hit the slider and turn 'em off. You can even select individual apps to enable or disable notifications from them, too.
Customize Your Start Menu
Those tiles on your Start menu can be incredibly useful, but also very distracting and annoying. If you're sick of seeing that Store logo on your Start menu, simply right click on it and unpin it from your Start menu. You can also resize tiles, turn them off altogether, or add your own choices in by dragging them into the live tile area.
Disable Cortana
While Cortana has her uses, maybe she just isn't for you. Fear not, you can always disable her by clicking in the search box, going down to the little notebook icon on the left-hand side, going to Settings and turning the top slider off.
Or Delete What Cortana Knows About You
Alternatively, you can erase everything that is stored in the Cloud Servers, by following these steps.
Offline Maps
Maps is a pretty handy app especially if you're using a laptop or tablet on the go. However, if you end up losing internet connection, Maps' usefulness begins to wane a little. Go to Settings and then System, click on Offline Maps and click the obtain maps option. From here you can select the region you want the map of and obtain it so you'll never be lost again.
Faster App Launches on Startup
If you've got a powerful PC you can disable the artificial app startup delay. You'll need to launch rededit and get to the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer. Right-click on Explorer, go to New and then Key, and name it Serialize. Here, create a DWORD value called StartupDelayInMSec and set the value to 0. Be warned though, you do need a powerful computer to handle this and registry editing can be harmful to your PC if done wrong.
Stream Media to Devices
If you had music or video files on your PC on an older OS, it was a nuisance to have to move them onto a USB drive to be able to play them on your TV or another device. Windows 10 allows you to cast your media over your WiFi network to another device on the network such as a Smart TV. A small but handy trick for those media-addicts.
Virtual Desktops
Virtual desktops is a great way to keep your work separate from play. Using the shortcut of the Windows key, CTRL + D you can open a clone of your desktop, fresh from any programs or apps you may have open on the other one. You can switch between them by using Windows key, CTRL and either the left or right arrow keys.
Play Xbox One Games
The Xbox app on Windows 10 allows you to keep up to date with everything Xbox One related. An activity feed informs you of your friends' recently unlocked achievements, recorded clips, and more. The big feature, though, is the ability to stream from your Xbox One to Windows 10 allowing you to play games even when you're not in the same room as your system.
Bring Back the Old Battery Display
Windows 10's new look is great in some instances, and not so great in others. The new battery layout can make it difficult for switching between power plans for laptop users. To bring back the old battery display, open up the Registry Editor (regedit) and head to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer. Create a new DWORD named UseWin32BatteryFlyout and then set the value to 1.
Disable WiFi Sense
WiFi Sense automatically connects you to WiFi so that you can get online quickly. However, in order for it to work to its full potential it requires you to share your network with either or a combination of your Facebook friends, mutual Skype contacts, or mutual Outlook.com contacts. While some people may be fine with this, sharing your network can always pose a risk if the wrong person manages to access it. To disable it, go to Settings and then Network and Internet. Once here, go to Wi-Fi and under Manage Wi-Fi disable all of Wi-Fi Sense's features.
Get Rid of Quick Access
Whenever you open File Explorer in Windows 10 you'll be greeted with a Quick Access menu showing you your most visited files and folders. While this can be useful, some may find that it gets in the way too often. Head to the View tab and then go to Options and Change Folder and Search Options. At the very top you should see Open File Explorer to: and a dropdown. Simply select This PC to get rid of that pesky Quick Access.

Microsoftâs Copilot might not be breaking ground in quite the same way as ChatGPT seemed to when it first debuted, but there are still some useful abilities for this desktop-ready chatbot AI that is now available to pretty much anyone running the latest version of Windows 11. It doesnât have a huge range of abilities yet, confining itself to changing some Windows settings, opening apps for you, and performing the creative writing and web search functions available through its contemporaries.
But you can make Copilot work for you and work well, and there are some tips and tricks youâll want to employ to make the most of it. Here are some of my favorites.
Go hands-free
While the latest natural language AIs might be primarily text-based, many of them now include voice and audio support, and Windows Copilot is much the same. While this might seem like merely a more clunky way to interact with Copilot â and it is kind of clunky â this is an important feature because it means you donât have to use your hands to prompt it. Beyond clicking the little microphone button, you can get back to whatever youâre doing while asking it a question or requesting something from it.
For me, this means I can ask it to find me information on a subject for an article Iâm writing, summarize a webpage, or give me some tips on how to do something, all while working on something else. This is particularly useful when youâre writing an article about Copilot tips and tricks, as you can have them play out while youâre writing it. When Iâm writing a best-of list, though, I can have it grab a spec sheet for me, which saves me around a minute of time for each request. Those minutes quickly add up.
Beyond my needs, though, voice support is also an important accessibility feature. You donât even need to be able to type to enjoy Windows Copilot. Young children or those with mobility difficulties can interact with and receive useful responses from it just like everyone else. For those who struggle to use a mouse or keyboard, this could greatly Improve their ability to interact with Windows naturally.
When I had a pinched nerve in my back recently and found using a mouse painful, Copilot was able to reduce my reliance on it. Itâs not perfect, or even great, yet, but it has the potential to be huge.
Youâll need to be signed in to use all its features
Windows Copilot has a few additional functions that require additional information from you. In the case of generating images, youâll need to be signed in to the Windows Image Creator service.Â
This is also a good help tip if you find that you canât use Copilot because its icon is missing or it just wonât open. Make sure youâre signed in to your online Microsoft account.
Integrate Edge with Windows Copilot
One of the few features that Copilot currently has that works really well is interacting with Edge. As a Microsoft product, this is perhaps no surprise, but it expands the functionality of Copilot beyond the bounds of Windows itself and, crucially, allows it to interact with your web session in a range of ways.
I often pull up articles with every intention of memorizing them, only to find out that it will take me 20 minutes, and who has time for that? Iâd certainly like to, but at this time in my life, I donât, so Copilot can quickly summarize it for you. It can find specific information within the page, too, which can be great for finding a quote or reference you need from a lengthy interview or video transcript.
It works with PDFs
One of my favorite ways to use AI chatbots so far is searching through lengthy PDF documents for board game rule references. Iâve tried a few different options, but Windows Copilot does a pretty good job. In this case, I asked about a rule for the complicated board game Twilight Imperium. To do so, I uploaded the living rules to a cloud service, opened the file in Edge, and had it share my on-screen content with Copilot.
It found the right rule reference and added additional (largely unnecessary) clarification. Itâs not perfect, but with a less nuanced or complicated request, it could be more effective.
It works in a range of other apps too
Donât forget that Windows Copilot might be mainly designed around a general chat tool but is slowly being integrated into Microsoftâs other apps.
If you use Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, or other Microsoft applications, it might be worth paying the additional subscription fee of $30 per user per month to get Copilot into your 365 applications. Youâll be able to do things like make an entire PowerPoint presentation just from a quick prompt or get AI-generated text right in Word.
Be precise and be prepared for errors
As great as Windows Copilot can be, it is still very clearly a work in progress. Some of the features arenât available yet, some of the features arenât available to everyone, and even the ones you do have access to wonât necessarily work. In one test, Copilot told me it couldnât generate images because I wasnât signed in, and then it claimed it couldnât generate images at all.
One day, it allowed me to open applications using it â admittedly, using the laborious process of clicking on the button within its chat to do so â and another day, it wouldnât let me, suggesting it doesnât have that functionality and can only search the web for answers to my problem.
Some days, it wonât even turn on dark mode, as it did in its very first demonstrations.
Be very clear in your instructions to avoid potential errors, but be prepared for it not to work as intended all of the time. If you encounter an error, try restarting Copilot or rebooting your PC.

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S have been out for 3 years now. Whether you're just picking one up or getting a second console, have no fear, they are both user-friendly to set up, with their primary functions easy to access for plug-in and play gaming. That being said, unlocking the full features and capabilities can take a little more research. We're here to help with that.
Beyond gaming, the Xbox Series X|S can act as a media center, you can use it to create and edit clips from your favorite games, and there are tons of great apps available â from Disney+ to Netflix. Still, you'll need to get yourself set up. So here are some of the most important things you should do first after opening that glossy box.
Know the difference between the Xbox Series S, Series X
There are some pretty large differences between the models of Xbox Series X and S. These consoles replace the previous Xbox One consoles. With the Xbox Series S replacing the Xbox One and Xbox One S, and the Xbox Series X replacing the Xbox One X.
The X sports 4K Blu-ray, complete with streaming 4K playback for media apps like Netflix. The Xbox Series S, however, is digital-only, supporting 4K only for streaming apps, with no disc drive to speak of. The Xbox Series X also has beefed-up specs, delivering 4K 60 FPS visuals for games, with various other graphical enhancements. The Series S generally targets 1080p or 1440p resolutions, aiming for 60 frames per second at minimum.
In terms of usage and operating system, though, both consoles are virtually identical. Both consoles are compatible with all existing Xbox One accessories and games, alongside hundreds of titles from previous Xbox 360 and Xbox OG generations. Games will look and run far better on the new-gen consoles, and load far faster, thanks to NVME SSD speeds.
Setting up your Xbox Gamertag and Microsoft Account
First things first, you'll need to set up an Xbox Gamertag that's connected to your Microsoft Account.
It's important to ensure that you have just one Microsoft Account across Xbox and Windows, particularly as these systems become more and more integrated. You can sign in with any Microsoft Account. If you haven't done so before while setting up the Xbox you'll be prompted to create a "Gamertag" â this is your identity on Xbox Live.
You can only change this once for free, so pick a good one!
From Xbox 360
If you have an existing account from an Xbox 360, you can sign in with the same email address you used on that console.
If you don't remember your Xbox 360 account email, you can find it on the old console by going to the Guide Menu and selecting Account Management, your email will be listed under Windows Live ID. If you don't have access to your Xbox 360, you might need to contact Xbox Live's support, or start afresh.
If you're coming from an older Xbox One, just log in with your existing accounts and you'll be set to go.
First Gamertag
If this is your first Xbox, you can create a new Gamertag connected to your Microsoft Account (if you use Windows 8 or Windows 10, you probably already have an account)
If you don't yet have a Microsoft Account, you'll have to create a new Microsoft Account. You can use an existing email address from another provider as the username, or create a new one via Microsoft.
Once your account is set up and integrated, you're ready to go!
Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass, what's the difference?
The Xbox Series X|S can be used offline, but many apps, services, and features will require an online connection. By default, a new Xbox user is signed up for a free Silver subscription, which will let you play online multiplayer in free-to-play games such as Fortnite. However, by purchasing an Xbox Live Gold subscription, you'll be able to access a ton of extra benefits.
Xbox Game Pass is an alternative subscription for an extra cost, it comes with hundreds of games available instantaneously Netflix-style if you subscribe. The best value option is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gives you both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold in a single combined subscription, and an additional benefit of cloud gaming on other devices. You can sign up for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass at any time from the main dashboard, or online.
Xbox Live Gold is now Game Pass Core
If you already had Xbox Live Gold on your old Xbox 360 or Xbox One, it should already have been converted over to Game Pass Core.
Game Pass Core is console-bound, in addition to account-bound, meaning that friends and family who use your Xbox also enjoy the benefits without setting up their own subscriptions.
You can also subscribe to Game Pass Core via time cards sold by Microsoft and other retailers.Â
If you purchase a digital code for Game Pass Core from an external retailer, you can redeem the code online, after signing in with your Microsoft Account.
You can also redeem the code on your Xbox by navigating to the store, hitting "Browse all games", and then selecting "redeem code."
You can cancel your subscription at any time using the Microsoft Account services page.
Game Pass Core members enjoy exclusive discounts, often up to 75% off. Game Pass Core also offers a catalog of games to play, these are usually older games though, and not the cream of the crop you can get in Game Pass Console, PC, or Ultimate.
Game Pass Core members can access multiplayer games.
You can still use apps like YouTube and Netflix without Xbox Live Gold
You can also play free-to-play games like Fortnite and Halo Infinite Multiplayer without Game Pass Core.
Xbox Game Pass Console, PC, and Ultimate
Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's Netflix-like subscription service, giving you access to hundreds of games for a monthly fee. All Xbox Game Studio first-party games will release Day One on Xbox Game Pass, this includes anticipated titles like Starfield and Redfall for 2023.Â
Xbox Game Pass has different price tiers for PC, console and Ultimate as well as the previously mentioned Game Pass Core.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives you both Xbox Game Pass games and Xbox Live Gold for a single combined price, as well as PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming to mobile devices.
For instant access to tons of games, it's well worth considering.
Microsoft's Netflix-like Xbox game subscription service gives you access to well-over one hundred titles on console, but also on PC. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also throws in Xbox Live Gold, which is required for playing online.
Need more controllers?
If you fancy more controllers, Microsoft produces a range of options, including a more powerful Elite Series 2 controller and a complete "Xbox Design Lab" that lets you make your very own styles for that personal touch.
Xbox Design Lab Controller
Customize it
Xbox Design Lab lets you make your very own style of controller, with the ability to change all the colors, the finish, and other aspects. It's great to commemorate your favorite game, match home decor, or as a gift for a loved one.
Xbox Elite Controller Series 2
Most powerful
The Xbox Elite Controller 2 is the best Xbox controller ever made, with lots of customizable parts, refined action and tactility, and various other improvements, complete with a super-convenient charge dock.
The Elite, but not as you know it
The Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 Core is a great option if you want an Elite for a cheaper price. This comes without the spare joysticks, the paddles, the carry case, and the charge dock of the original Elite, with the trade-off being a cheaper price. There's also no back paddles included but they can be purchased seperately.
Hyperkin Duke
Best for retro fans
If you want to go old-school, try out the Hyperkin Duke, for fans of the OG Xbox. It matches much of the original design, complete with a rather nifty animated guide button right in the middle.
PowerA Enhanced Controller
Best budget
The PowerA Enhanced controllers are a solid option if you're just after a wired controller for Player 2. The controllers come in a huge range of colors and have the bonus addition of extra programmable buttons and a volume wheel.
Essential accessories
The Xbox consoles are great by themselves, with everything you need out of the box for a great gaming experience. However, there are a ton of other great accessories that can enhance or specialize your experience, from wireless headsets to Amazon Echo voice support, and more. Here are our top four most-essential Xbox accessory picks.
Amazon Echo
Voice control
You can now control your Xbox console using voice commands via an Amazon Echo speaker. The lowest-cost Echo devices are pretty affordable and currently sport the most extensive array of support for connected devices and services. The most affordable Echo device is the Echo spherical speaker.
Panasonic Eneloop Pro
Multi-purpose charging
If you have multiple controllers, or just want a more flexible solution for charging, the Panasonic Eneloop Pro batteries and charge kit get juiced up from the wall socket and can be used in any device that takes AA batteries.Â
HyperX Cloudx Wired Headset
Wired sound
If you prefer quality wired headsets, our current favorite is the HyperX CloudX. Both budget friendly and convenient, a wired headset means no charging required, and often a better sound quality than wireless headsets in a higher price bracket.Â
LucidSound LS35X
Wireless sound
For voice communication, a headset is a must, and we're currently recommending the LucidSound LS35X as the best wireless Xbox headset. With excellent battery life, full wireless capabilities, crystal clear mic, and comfortable construction, you won't be disappointed.
Optimize for multiplayer games by opening your NAT
This step won't be necessary for the majority, but if you're having trouble connecting to your home network you may need to make some tweaks. Most domestic networking setups support the Xbox out of the box, but here's a couple of tips to Improve your experience if you have some networking knowledge.
Open Settings.
Select General.
Select Network Settings
If you see that your NAT type is "strict," you may need to open the following ports on your router settings page:
53 (UDP and TCP)
80 (TCP)
88 (UDP)
500 (UDP)
3074 (UDP and TCP)
3544 (UDP)
4500 (UDP)The steps to change port availability differ for every router, so please consult your router manufacturer' specific instructions.
Enable your router's UPNP setting to further Improve connectivity to Xbox Live.
Note: Sometimes, simply opening the ports isn't enough, you may have to set up your Xbox with a static IP address to ensure that the ports remain open for that particular device. PortForwards.com has specific guides on configuring the open ports for your specific model of router.
Set up the Xbox app for mobile devices
Windows 10 and 11 come with the Xbox app pre-installed, but there are also apps available for iOS and Android for use with your Xbox. Using these apps, you can manage your Game DVR recordings, send messages, browse and buy games, check your activity feed, and much more. Not all features are supported by all versions, but the apps are frequently updated.
Create an Avatar and GamerPic
Gaming is often a social experience, and the team at Microsoft gave us Xbox Avatars to help us feel visually represented on Xbox Live. Avatars are 3D cartoon characters you can customize and display on your Xbox Live profile. You can purchase props, licensed clothes and gaming accessories for your Avatar to stand out from the crowd, and then use your Avatar to pose for a unique profile picture.
Create and upload game clips and screenshots
You can create your own gaming memories using the Xbox's GameDVR and UPLOAD Studio apps. These apps come preinstalled on your Xbox, and provide robust storage and editing tools.
The new Xbox Series X|S controllers come with a nifty share button nestled in between the view and menu buttons, and underneath the Xbox home button.
Pressing this button once will capture a screenshot of your game, and pressing and holding will create a clip of what just happened. You can configure the length of these clips in settings.Â
Pressing this share button twice will show all your most accurate captures, so you can choose what to share.
This button is customizable, in the console accessories app you can change the response when you use the share button.
You can use the Xbox to stream content from your devices. On Windows 10 and 11, this is achieved simply by selecting the casting button seen in Windows 10 video apps, then selecting the Xbox mapped to the same network. To access media content on a PC or server from your Xbox requires a few settings tweaks in Windows.
First, you need to open the Media Player app, accessed via the Games and Apps section at the bottom of the main dashboard.
From here you can browse PC folders set up to share content over your home network.
To set up a PC for media sharing, type "Media Streaming Options" into your Windows Start Menu.
Find your Xbox in the list, then tick to allow access.
From here you can customize which Windows libraries you want to share, such as Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos.
When you're done, hit next and follow the extra steps to create a Windows HomeGroup. Your folders should now be accessible via the Xbox media player app.
Where are the games and apps?
You can access your games at any time right from the home screen or via the Guide menu. Press the Xbox home button on your controller, then move down a step to select "My games & apps."
Games need to be installed either from physical discs or digital downloads from the store. Modern games tend to have quite large file sizes, so investing in an external storage drive might be something to consider.
Install a game from a disc
Insert the disc into the Xbox. The disc will show up below the main window on the dashboard home screen.
Select the disc icon to begin installation.
After installation is complete, select the Games Library from the bottom of the dashboard.
Select the game to launch it.
Install a game from the Xbox Store
Open the Store app.
Select Browse all games
Select the game you with to install.
Select the Buy button to purchase the game.
Enter your passkey if prompted.
Select Confirm. Your Xbox will begin downloading the game. Note: You can check obtain progress by returning to the home screen and selecting Queue
Once the game has finished downloading, select the Games Library from the bottom of the dashboard.
Select the game to launch it.
Xbox family settings

Update Dec 22, 2023: We've updated this guide with the latest information for the latest Xbox Series X|S updates.
All the latest news, reviews, and guides for Windows and Xbox diehards.
Fri, 22 Dec 2023 01:21:00 -0600entext/htmlhttps://www.windowscentral.com/top-tips-new-xbox-ownersWindows 11âs next big update could arrive in February 2024, packing some nifty features â but it might miss some tricks too
Windows 11 could be getting its next feature drop early in 2024, courtesy of what will be the fifth âMomentâ update for the operating system.
As youâre likely aware by now, a Moment is the name given to smaller feature updates that arrive outside of the big annual upgrade Microsoft pushes out for Windows 11 (which was 23H2 this year).
And we just heard from Windows Central (Zac Bowden) that Moment 5 should arrive in February (indeed its alternative name is the âFebruary 2024 Momentâ).
That said, the catch is that this will be the initial preview release, late in the month, so the full version of the Moment 5 update wonât actually arrive until March. On the second Tuesday of the month if the typical release cadence of Microsoftâs cumulative updates is adhered to â which would make the date to mark in your diary March 12.
What will this update pack in the way of new features? Well, donât get your hopes up for anything too exciting, as weâre told this will be a more minor release compared to some of the previous Moments.
Even so, there will be a healthy dollop of tweaks and additions, and one smart piece of functionality is targeted at stylus users â namely the ability to write directly into text fields with their pen (something Microsoft has promised will eventually be an OS-wide capability in Windows).
Voice Access is also receiving some laudable attention, including support for multiple monitors, and powerful new voice shortcuts. The latter are customizable commands allowing for the opening of files, folders, or pasting a section of boilerplate text, for example (and they can be chained together for multiple steps).
Microsoft is set to make a bunch of minor tweaks â some of which are useful, like giving Notepad a character count, and being able to rename devices with the Nearby Share feature, to make them more easily identifiable at a glance (âDarrenâs PCâ for example) â but some of the work elsewhere is purely about complying with European regulations.
Unfortunately, Windows 11 users outside of the EEA wonât get those latter options, but they will benefit from another move to let the user uninstall a larger number of default apps â like Photos, for example.
Furthermore, Microsoft is introducing an option to specify that the widgets panel contains just widgets, with users being able to remove the news feed. Interestingly, weâre also told that Microsoft will make it possible for other third-party services to be integrated into the panel â so you could infuse the widget board with Google news, if you wanted to.
These widget-related possibilities are coming for everyone, fortunately, not just the EEA â and we can keep our fingers crossed that the other mentioned Europe-bound changes will be rolled out more widely, too. Plenty of folks would like the ability to declutter Windows 11 a bit more by getting rid of Edge, no doubt.
Of course, we must bear in mind that these changes are all rumors, though weâve seen all the mentioned features going through testing of late, so all of this makes sense. The release date of February (for preview) and March is the nugget of info that needs more salt applied, but Bowden is one of the more reliable sources out there for info from Microsoft. Itâs always possible that an intended timeframe might slip a bit, mind.
From what weâve heard, this could be the last Moment update before the next-gen version of Windows is launched later in 2024. Whether that will be Windows 12, or something else (Windows AI?), or if Microsoft might stick with Windows 11 (making the upgrade version 24H2), we donât yet know, but the theory is this might be the last Moment before that next big move arrives.
As per another of Bowdenâs accurate rumors, Microsoft is supposedly set to switch away from Moments, releasing fewer of these updates going forward, and making more changes and feature additions in the big annual upgrade. (And yes â in short, this is returning more to the way things used to be).
